Kate Anna Jewson – Oxfordshire Hypnotherapist

I am a qualified registered Oxfordshire Hypnotherapist having graduated from The University of Warwick in 1984 with a 2:1 degree BA (Hons).  Having gained experience in commerce in London and Oxford for several years I then entered the much more fulfilling world of therapeutic practice. I trained in Oxford and then at St.Charles Hospital in London at The UK Training College of Hypnotherapy and Counselling in the early 1990s and graduated from it in 1995.  This was the longest course including hypnotherapy in the UK at the time, with only face to face teaching and interactive workshops rather than distance learning.

Amongst other things we were expected to have therapy ourselves, practise with colleagues, have supervision, submit a dissertation, gain a First Aid certificate, take practical as well as written exams, join associations and follow a strict code of ethics. This prepared students to start practising after the first year and I set up my clinic in Oxford in the 1990s.

I took up advanced with the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training and graduated with a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.  This exciting modern therapy not only incorporates all of the latest neurological research but also moves clients forward without having to reminisce about past events. We work towards client’s particular goals with specific techniques in a positive, uncomplicated, uplifting and gentle way.

I attend Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses regularly for specialities such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Neuroscience, Neuroimmunology, Pain, Mindfulness etc.

Having lived and worked abroad in the USA and South Africa for several years I moved back home to Oxfordshire.  I see clients in a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable environment, in Childrey near Wantage, as well as at TOPS Summertown in North Oxford and at The Iffley Turn Practice in East Oxford.  I also see clients at a large, progressive, finance company within Oxford Science Park where their appreciation and support of their hard working staff is inspiring.

Being in my mid 50s I now have substantial life experience that helps me to bring even more understanding and empathy to what my clients are going through.

I am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and the National Council of Hypnotherapy.

I am DBS checked for children and vulnerable adults.
